Hiya Tricksters!
We must announce, with heavy hearts, that the recent patch of Trickster Online had been released with an unfortunately large bug in tow. This bug required that we bring down the servers again for an emergency maintenance.
Due to an oversight by our team, content and code had been included in the early morning patch that was damaging to the intended design of the game. However, we’d like to ensure all players that we’ve utilized every team member available to resolve this issue in the best way that we could.
To the best of our ability, all of the reported and confirmed bugs have been resolved. We have taken extra steps to insure that we are to prevent any recurrence of this issue in the future. The servers are now live, but of course our primary goal will be to guarantee that things have been restored to normal before we go home tonight. We are confident about the current status of the servers, but in case of an emergency we will be sure to update our announcement page accordingly.
Listed below is a full list of fixes that have been implemented during the Server down time:
* Resolution/Retraction of any and all QA testing features
* Soul Seed/Guardian progress will be rolled on all accounts to a 1 AM (PST) equivalent status
* No other rollbacks will be applied at this time
* We are now live!
* We will have a double XP/double TM event this weekend – From 12:00AM Saturday (11/21/2009) through 11:59PM Sunday night (11/22/2009).
As far as the use of the QA testing functions that had been accidentally inserted into the patch,
(and the players that used them):
It has been brought to our attention that some players are concerned with any potential administrative action that may be incurred during this incident. Ntreev USA has not, nor will we ban, any players for actions associated with this occurrence. However, please be aware that we will not tolerate any violations of the Terms of Use, for any reason, and any violations will be addressed on a case by case basis. That means if a player used the server announcement feature, that player will not be banned, if a player used obscenities in said server announcement feature, they will be banned.
We have NOT planned or stated to take any corrective action against accounts in association with the testing features, nor have we ever considered such plans for this.
In closing, we sincerely apologize for all of the trouble this issue has caused our Tricksters.
We at Ntreev USA along with the fervent support of the Trickster Online development team at Ntreev Soft in Korea have worked to make sure this situation does not happen again.
